Fire Safety Awareness: Prevent, Respond, Evacuate

Fire kills and injures people in workplaces, care settings and homes every week — and in places where people may not understand the alarm, can't self-evacuate, or rely on equipment and oxygen, the stakes are far higher. This practical course gives every staff member the knowledge and confidence to prevent fires, raise the alarm, evacuate safely, and use basic firefighting equipment correctly.

    How the course works

The course blends short video input, eBooks, realistic scenarios, eLearning module, and short knowledge checks. It explains how fire starts and spreads, how to spot and report hazards, your building's escape routes and fire action, how to support people who need help to evacuate, and when and how to use a fire extinguisher. It is designed to run alongside — not replace — your site-specific induction and live fire drills.

    Who it's for

All staff and volunteers in any workplace — with a dedicated track for care and support settings (residential, home care, supported living and community) where evacuation is more complex. No prior knowledge needed.
